Ladies,
As 2020 comes to a close, I would like to thank you all for your flexibility in adapting to the changes and abiding by the Covid-19 regulations put in place so we could get back out on the golf course safely.
We were able to go ahead with our club tournaments and continue the regular sweeps days, thanks to the hard work of our board members, Patty Crigler, Linda Holmgren and Michi Nakamura. Using the GHIN app made it paperless and safer but added more work on the back-end obtaining the results.
Our new web site is up and running and looks great – a big thanks to the expertise and patience of Laura Borja. The transition to Golf Genius was headed up by Patty Crigler and her team of Linda Holmgren, Karen Bridges and Golf Genius administrator Laura Borja. It is working out well, though has entailed somewhat of a learning curve but the team is figuring it out.
Linda Holmgren has the Torrey Tuesday “sweeps games” up and running. Some minor changes are being made regarding signing up for events. These include member only , member plus one and member plus three “sweeps games.” With a lot of new members this year we are trying to integrate them into the club and mix it up a little with all our members.
With the US Open coming to Torrey Pines June 2021, our regular Torrey play days will be reduced. The 2021 calendar has tentative dates on it right now. Changes will be made as soon as we are notified. Our social director, Judy Dennis and her team of Michelle Natalier and Karen Bridges, will be adding “Roam from Home” events to the calendar to keep our TPWCG members playing more golf. Stay tuned! These events will have varying sign-up rules and pairings. Check the news page on our web site and the Golf Genius emails for specifics.
