June 2024 Board Meeting

President Sandy Wichelecki called an Ad Hoc TPWGC board meeting to discuss and decide upon a course of action regarding Pro Shop sweeps account management. She opened the (zoom) meeting at 5 pm with a quorum.

President Wichelecki presented some background information on the issue at hand. She explained that Torrey Men’s Club intends to remove their sweeps account monies from the current arrangement with Pro Shop management. They have been negotiating with both the Pro Shop and City Course Management to effect this change.

Sandy explained that she has been brought into the negotiations as the City wishes to treat both clubs equally. She has informed the City management that, however, due to our relatively smaller size, what is financially feasible for the Men’s Club, is not reasonable for our club. The City also intends to have all of the City golf course clubs follow the same arrangement. The negotiations are still in process.

President Wichelecki then presented several scenarios that she believes are options for our club as the Men’s Club process moves forward. Treasurer, Gina Menicucci advised that we have some ability in our budget to manage some extra costs this year. The group discussed the various options and a motion was MSP to align with the Men’s Club and negotiate a reasonable City fee to offset their revenue loss.

President Wichelecki thanked the board for its efforts and closed the meeting at 5:30 pm.
