TPWGC April 21, 2026 Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President, Sandy Wichelecki at 12.50 PM
A motion was made, seconded and passed to approve the 1/13/2026 Board meeting minutes.
Reports
President’s Report:
President Wichelecki states that the GG email errors are <2%. If that increases, she will follow up with Laura Borja, Web Director, to inquire about how to address the email errors.
President Wichelecki reported that the TPWGC made a donation to the city-sponsored adaptive golf tournament. She also stated that the club has joined with the men’s club to circulate a letter and email campaign to city representatives regarding the use of monies from the Golf Enterprise Fund.
Treasurer:
Gina Menicucci reported that the annual access fee of $28,977 was paid to the city. As of end of March, the bank balance was $57,155.67; anticipated liabilities are $18,502.47, plus the $28.977 to the city.
Events:
Director, Michelle Natalier reported that there will be no June Newsletter due to her vacation.
VP/Tournament:
No Report.
Membership:
Director, Cindi Velasquez, reported a current membership count of 319
Sweeps Tee Times:
Director, Linda Holmgren reported no major issues with late cancellations, no-shows or pace of play. She did note that some members are waiting to request a preferred tee time until just before general sign ups open. She asks that they be instructed to make the request at least a day or so earlier.
Sweeps Result
Director Youwen Ouyang stated that Golf Genius breaks any results ties but she is not sure of the formula used. Such tiebreakers usually work well for Ace Days. However, on non-Ace Days, scores for 9 holes are used. As a result, ties might be hard to break and could result in odd payout amounts.
Handicap:
Director, Michi Nakamura reported a handicap case that required intervention. She determined the member was not posting correctly in order to manipulate her handicap. The member has been sanctioned with a modified handicap. Grace Lee will continue to monitor as Michi has now reached her last meeting as board member, but she will be part of a “handicap committee “ and remain available as a consultant.
Rules:
Director Yuna Lenehan reported that there was an unusual rules issue in the most recent club tournament. Players had some disagreements about what to do and mistakenly used AI to resolve, using the wrong procedure. She plans to use the newsletter to educate club members and remind them to follow USGA rules and not to rely on AI

In MC’s absence, President Wichelecki advised of the upcoming County events. Details are available on the SDCWGA website. She also reminded the Board of the multiple club rebate available
