TPWGC April 1, 2025 Board Meeting

Present:

Sandy Wichelecki, Michi Nakamura, Cindi Velasquez, Laura Borja, Soo Lee, Michelle Natalier,  Gina Menicucci, Karen Bridges,  Susan Boeshart

Absent:

Linda Holmgren, Yuna Lenehan, MC Eastman

The meeting was called to order by President, Sandy Wichelecki at 12:26 PM

The minutes of the 1/7/2025  Board meeting were approved.

Reports

Treasurer:

Treasurer, Gina Menicucci, presented an updated financial spreadsheet. As of 3/31/2025, the bank balance was $57,390.04; anticipated liabilities are $46,975.96. She expects to pay the SD City assessment fee this month, which is calculated upon a membership count of 307

Events:

Michelle Natalier requested input for the newsletter member spotlight section. Please forward suggestions to her.

President’s Report:

President Wichelecki reported on the status of 2024 sweeps balance payouts to the membership. As of today, the majority of members have received their checks. She will send out an additional reminder that checks must be retrieved by May 1. After that time, the unclaimed monies will be moved to the club’s general fund.

She stated that the course divot parties are due to begin again this month. Further details from Matty Wayne Reyes, SD Parks and Rec, Golf Operations are expected.

VP/Tournament:
Director, Karen Bridges distributed an updated payout schedule for the 2025 tournaments. She has made some adjustments to the the amounts and number of places paid. She has budgeted a total of $5,150 for the 5 tournaments to be held this year.

Membership:
Director Cindi Velasquez reported a current membership of 307. 

Sweeps Tee Times:
No Report

Sweeps Result
Director, Soo Lee stated that there have been some problems lately with scorecard corrections coming in after the 5 pm cutoff. She plans to handle these by strictly adhering to the time limit and referring those with score changes to the Handicap Director for correction.

Handicap:
Director, Michi Nakamura stated that she has made her SCGA renewal as club handicap chair.

Rules:

Web:
Laura Borja, Web Director, reported that some of the club emails have been hacked. She cautioned those board members with club emails to use more precautions and contact Laura if a password needs to be reset.

SCCWGA Rep:
President Wichelecki advised of the County events for the next few months. The County website has more details. She also clarified that, due to increasing popularity for these events, a new lottery system has been devised to more equitably manage the sign up process.

New Business:

Tee times for next SUP. President Wichelecki stated that a preliminary discussion regarding the next SUP allows for 15 hours of tee times per month for the club, consistent with this year. However it appears that the hours for the Friday 9 hole club are included in that number, although the two clubs operate as separate entities. President Wichelecki discussed possible scenarios for going forward. A motion was MSP to make a formal separation from the 9 hole club. President Wichelecki will follow up with the Friday group’s leadership to communicate our intentions

July 1, 2025 will be the next Board Meeting.
