TPWGC January 13, 2026 Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President, Sandy Wichelecki at 1:22 PM
The minutes of the 10/7/2025 Board meeting were approved.
Reports
President’s Report:
President Wichelecki welcomed Grace Lee, who will shadow Handicap Director Michi Nakamura and eventually transition into the role over the coming months.
President Wichelecki reported that meetings with the city golf operations staff have gone well and that they are pleased with our club’s volunteering efforts. She stated that there is a worthwhile donation opportunity with this year’s city-sponsored adaptive golf tournament. This item will be deferred to further discussion at the next Board meeting.
Treasurer:
Gina Menicucci presented a final 2025 financial spreadsheet. As of 12/1/2025, the bank balance was $53,003.06; anticipated sweeps liabilities are $13,533.00. Gina reported that the majority of the 2025 sweeps winnings have been paid out electronically. Those members who have not collected their funds will be contacted again to expedite resolution by end of February.
Gina presented the proposed 2026 budget, based upon a membership of 310. The sweeps payouts in 2026 will be increased due to the extra tee times per play. A motion was made, seconded and passed to pay out non-renewing members at the time of non-renewal to simplify the process.
Events:
Director, Michelle Natalier reported that volunteer positions for the upcoming Undertow tournament are almost full. She stated that some of the preferred tee time rewards are not being used. After discussion, a motion was MSP to offer preferred tee times for any volunteering for city events, except for the Farmer’s or Junior World, usable for up to 1 year.
VP/Tournament:

Membership:
Director, Cindi Velasquez, reported a current membership count of 312.
Sweeps Tee Times:
Director, Linda Holmgren reported no major issues with late cancellations or no-shows or pace of play.
As many were reportedly pleased with today’s format, she will arrange a “step aside” scramble format for play on some additional dates following course maintenance.
Sweeps Result
Director, Youwen Ouyang stated that final scorecards are not coming via email from Golf Genius after sweeps play. She will follow up with Web Director, Laura Borja.
Handicap:
Director, Michi Nakamura stated that she will involve Grace Lee in the annual SCGA handicap testing process.

SCCWGA Rep:
MC Eastman advised of the upcoming County events. She also reminded the Board of the multiple club rebate available from SCGA.
